Abstract


Along with the rapid development of technology, everyone can do a job without having to act directly. The gate is one of the important parts in home security. This automatic gate system helps users in home security. One way that the author can do is to create a prototype of an automatic gate that can open and close the gate by reading the registered license plate so that it can increase efficiency for the occupants of the house. The license plate detection system is made by utilizing digital image processing technology, where the license plate recognition technology is called automatic license plate recognition (ALPR). While in the automatic gate, the operation process is carried out using ESP32 as a microcontroller, the driving object uses a Servo Motor and this system adds (IoT) or what is called the Internet of Things. The Prototyping method used by the author in this study. The Prototyping method used will obtain a prototype where this study will be a connected bridge for makers, system developers and users.
